BREAK IN: A Weekend Master Class for Emerging Filmmakers

May 2 + 3, 2026

Early bird $125  ·  Regular $165

"I won my first Emmy at 30 because I worked backwards from the Emmy ceremony. I had a plan, I reverse-engineered every step, and I executed it. This weekend I'm going to show you exactly how I did it — and how you can apply the same thinking to whatever part of the entertainment industry you want to work in."

"I remember what it felt like to be starting out — hungry, ready, and not knowing where the door was. Every job I got in those early years came down to one thing: knowing how to show up, make a lasting first impression, and build real relationships. That's what this weekend is about."

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
KO

Kyle Olson — Emmy Award-Winning Producer

20 years. 25 countries. Kyle has produced across every format the industry offers — from reality television's biggest franchises to prestige streaming drama to blockbuster film. He hires people constantly, he's sat across the table from studios and networks, and he knows exactly what separates the people who get the call from the people who don't. This weekend he's telling you everything.

Barbie House of the Dragon Megalopolis Masters of the Air Dancing with the Stars The Bachelor Naked & Afraid The Kelly Clarkson Show America's Next Top Model Silo Hijack Flight Risk Superman Sentimental Value Netflix Apple TV+ Warner Bros. HBO Disney Universal FOX Paramount

What you'll walk away with
  • A plan for landing your first PA job, from someone who hires them and will tell you exactly what he looks for
  • A clear picture of how a real film and TV set works — the hierarchy, the departments, and how it all fits together
  • A story pitched, critiqued, and refined over the course of the weekend
  • A look at real professional pitch decks — the ones that actually got greenlit
  • A reverse-engineered career plan built backwards from where you actually want to end up
  • Notes on your actual resume — everyone gets personalized feedback
  • A portfolio, reel, and online presence that looks like it belongs in this industry
  • Real, tangible networking strategies that work — and how to put them into practice immediately
  • Access to exclusive Facebook groups that constantly hire PA's nationwide
  • A concrete plan for making your own work and getting it seen without waiting for permission
  • Honest answers to the questions nobody else will answer: money, rejection, LA, unions, the real first year

Kyle hires people. He's going to tell you exactly what he looks for.

Most workshops are taught by people who used to work in the industry. Kyle is still in it — across scripted drama, unscripted television, blockbuster film, and virtual production. He has built crews on productions around the world and knows exactly what separates the applications that get a response from the ones that don't. This weekend he's sharing all of it.

Your resume is the first impression you make. Get notes on YOURS!

Before anyone meets or hires you, they read your resume. It's your first impression — and most people in this industry are getting it wrong in the same fixable ways. Submit yours when you register. Some get pulled for live review in front of the group. Every single person gets written, personalized notes back from Kyle. You leave the weekend with a resume that actually belongs in this industry.

Kyle has worked with some of the biggest names in the business — and learned from all of them.

Francis Ford Coppola. Greta Gerwig. Kevin Hart. Bill Nye the Science Guy. Over 20 years on productions across 25 countries, Kyle has worked alongside legends of film, television, and culture. The lessons those experiences taught him don't live in textbooks. This weekend he's bringing them into the room.

Questions

Is this really online?

Yes — fully virtual via Zoom. Join from anywhere in the world. We will be based in the Pacific Time Zone.

Do I need experience to attend?

No. This is built for people who are early — student work, little to no professional credits, figuring out the next move. If you're further along you'll still get a lot out of it.

How many people will be there?

Capped at 30. Small enough that Kyle can interact with everyone, give live feedback, and know your name by Sunday afternoon.

Does everyone really get resume notes?

Yes. Submit your latest resume before the class begins. Some get pulled for live review in front of the group. Everyone gets written notes back from Kyle after the session.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Every session is recorded and yours to keep. Watch back as many times as you want. Live attendance is strongly encouraged — the feedback sessions, live pitches, and Q&As are where most of the value is — but the recordings are there whenever you need them.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. Because sessions are fully recorded and delivered digitally, we're unable to offer refunds after purchase. If something comes up and you can't attend live, the recordings will be available for you to watch at any time.

What's the Sunday dinner?

An optional in-person dinner at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank — an industry institution. Informal, no agenda, limited to people who can make it to LA. Come for dinner, or just a milkshake. Details sent after registration.

What if I'm not in LA?

The full weekend master class is 100% online — join from anywhere. The Sunday evening dinner is the only in-person component and it's completely optional.
